Eyedropper
Robert Gehrke accumulates nature, representing it in lifesize cast bronze replicas of the things we find scattered around us on the ground. Primarily these are stones and leaves, but also — true to fact — once in a while other elements, like paper, crackers, a golf ball, or box of matches can be found among them. Reorganizing these many small fragments into collagelike groupings with impeccable craftsmanship, Gehrke creates beautiful pictures of the detritus of nature.
