Scarlet Bison
Red cast resin bison horn attaches to walnut base by magnets
My first encounter with wild bison was driving through Yellowstone National Park. It created an indelible memory to see these prehistoric creatures owning the terrain as they ran along the roads and hillsides, oblivious to time and tourist. Recovered from near extinction with help from the National Park Service, the bison was designated our national mammal. The base is turned from a black walnut limb that reminds me of a sacred buffalo robe.
